CMA Temp of the Year 2021

2020 saw a high demand for temporary workers due to the pandemic and we’ve seen that increase further in 2021, as businesses react to the pandemic, look to increase resources back to pre-pandemic levels, and add new skill sets to their organisations. These temps have shown themselves to be resilient, flexible, and with a great attitude in the face of an unusual situation.

CMA Temp of the Year 2021 celebrates these contractors on the CMA register for the work done in the past 12 months. This year we received a number of nominations from across CMA’s five offices; the successful nominees were those interim workers who have gone beyond the call of duty to provide an exceptional interim service that has truly added value to their team, company and role.

After conducting interviews with all of the nominees’ line managers, we narrowed it down to one winner and an honourable mention award.

Introducing our winner

After much deliberation, we are proud to announce the CMA Temp of the Year 2020 winner is… Erin Rochlow

We have been working with Erin for the past few years and have found her fantastic to work with. CMA Divisional Manager Rachel Amaning says: “Erin is personable, versatile and 100% reliable. She understood that flexibility regarding the level of role she undertook would give her the most opportunities and this kept her busy throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Over this time, Rachel found that Erin always went the extra mile for the client. She says: “In return, all of the companies she temped at would have offered her a permanent role if there had been a suitable one.”

Erin was placed by CMA earlier this year in an interim finance role with a local business, a position which was later made permanent. Her line manager Finance Director Gail says: “Erin made an immediate impact on our workload, gaining respect from both colleagues and clients alike. Her professionalism and dedication quickly made her an invaluable member of our team.”

Erin was delighted by the news – and with her prize! She has found working with Rachel and CMA a pleasure: “From my perspective, I feel this award is as much an indication of how well you sell, as it is my skill set being recognised. Thank you so much for putting me forward time and again.”

CMA Director Aran Purewal says: “Congratulations to Erin for winning CMA’s Temp of the Year 2021! It is richly deserved following her excellent contribution to the business in a short space of time. This was a key factor in the business securing Erin on a permanent basis.”

An honourable mention

The CMA team also wanted to give an honourable mention to a temp who went above and beyond during this period; this accolade goes to Paul Healey.

Paul has been working with CMA for several years, and during this time has proved himself to be reliable, hardworking, and a real pleasure to deal with. Paul’s hiring manager Simon had this to say about him: “Paul is a diligent, reliable team player who gets the ‘job done’ at all times.”

In his role as a temp, Paul has proved himself invaluable to the business during the pandemic, going out of his way to implement new organisational procedures and deadlines, and stressing the importance of getting all invoices processed.

Simon continued: “This was a challenge as the team had never worked remotely prior to the pandemic and his strong organisation skills meant that the task in hand was done. Paul’s job is very important to the rest of the business and the work process. If invoices aren’t paid on time, this simply means that customer orders can get delayed.”

Paul says: “Thank you for the honourable mention award – it’s extremely nice to be remembered for my efforts rather than become just another number. CMA have always been very much on my side during my current period of employment which further adds to the positive experience I have encountered during the past 3.5 years.”

CMA Divisional Manager Michelle Pena Stapleton was delighted for Paul and believes it’s very well-deserved: “He has also gone above and beyond his original brief, by ‘stepping up’ into a supervisory capacity to over a long-term sickness and I thank him for his incredible loyalty. Well done Paul!”

“I’m delighted that Paul has been awarded the honourable mention. It’s very well deserved and throughout his 3.5 year tenure as a temp, he has been very reliable, hardworking, and a real pleasure to deal with.”
